PEN New Mexico always welcomes new members. Aspiring or established fiction and nonfiction writers, journalists, editors, translators, publishers, booksellers, or others associated with the literary life are invited to join.

The least expensive membership category, Friends of PEN New Mexico, entitles one to invitations to all our regional activities and to our quarterly newsletter. Membership costs only $35 per year.

Anyone can become a Friend of PEN New Mexico. Funds raised by these memberships go toward local and regional Freedom-to-Write projects and other advocacy events.

Membership in Friends of PEN New Mexico does not include benefits of membership in PEN Center USA West or International PEN.

Membership in PEN New Mexico and our parent organization, PEN Center USA West, provides official enrollment as a worldwide PEN member, registry in the PEN Center USA West directory, subscription to their newsletter, and invitations to their special events. Applicants are selected on the basis of the quantity and quality of their published work; for this reason PEN Center USA West membership implies a degree of prestige recognized by many editors and publishers. This level of membership costs $79 a year.
